The Eurasian wren, Troglodytes troglodytes, is a small drab member of the wren family, found in both urban and rural environments, from city gardens to woodland, heathland, hedgerow, farmland and moor. It eats insects, including their pupae, spiders and some seeds. It is typically seen foraging in in old logs, tree bark and in the foliage of garden shrubs and hedgrows. Wren are not common visitors of feeding tables and more likely seen on the periphery of urban gardens. In colder conditions wren are known to roost in groups fro warmth. The wren has strong resident populations in Europe across Asia and some neighbouring countries with some migrational populations in the most northerly parts of these regions.
