The European Robin,
Erithacus rubecula, is an easily recognised bird, found in both urban and rural environments,
from city gardens to woodland, heath and farmland. It eats small seeds, fruit, insects and other invertebrates. It can be both resident and migratory in behaviour depending on location and prevailing climate. In the UK they are largely resident. To people they are often friendly creatures prepared even to feed from your hand. In their own kingdom they are quite aggressive birds singing their territorial song throughout the year.
